Jocelyn Lui Hoi Yi is a lens-based visual artist who uses the transformative power

Of art to challenge perceptions and inspire societal change.

Her work focuses on memory and transformation, drawing personal experiences

to navigate complex family relationships and nature's metaphors,

Integral to her self-healing journey.

Lui's interdisciplinary approach enhances her storytelling, allowing her to create immersive experiences through photography, collage, textiles, ceramics, and sound art. This diverse methodology engages viewers on sensory and emotional levels, evoking

profound reflection and connection to their own memories.

Her art intricately explores the links between personal narratives and social issues, provoking thought and fostering meaningful dialogue. Through her creations, she weaves hope into the

narrative, encouraging audiences to envision transformative healing

possibilities. By addressing themes of memory, identity, and healing,

Lui's work resonates deeply, inviting reflection on the roles individuals play in cultivating a compassionate and inclusive world. Her commitment to community engagement and mentorship is evident in her collaborations with diverse artists, amplifying their voices

and fostering inclusivity within the artistic community.

Jocelyn LUI received her Master of Arts in Fashion and Textile from

Hong Kong Polytechnic University and completed

a Post-Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Photography and

a Professional Diploma in Fine Art, both in Hong Kong.

Jocelyn is a lens-based visual artist with a background in fashion design.

Her interdisciplinary artwork ranges from photography and media to collage, textiles, ceramics,

and sound arts. Her varied background allows her to reconstruct childhood memories

to reflect the transformations of life, which she sees as a self-healing process

metaphorically connected to nature.

In 2023, Jocelyn debuted her solo exhibition "The Wings of the Wind" at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre. She was awarded a grant from the Emerging Artists Scheme and the Culture Exchange project grant to visit the Czech Republic for the exhibition, both of which are

part of the scheme under the Hong Kong Art Development Council. 

In 2024, Jocelyn began involvement in a community art project, curating an art exhibition

in 2025 alongside a training intellectual disability individuals artists program for

a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
